APPLICATION FOR FUNDING
ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
A GRANT APPLICANT MUST BE:
- a certified 501 (c)(3) charitable organization, or
- a public educational institution, or
- a charitable Rotary Club or Rotary International program/project.
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN
- Organizations in the local area, primarily Manatee and Sarasota counties.
- Organizations that serve children or older adults.
- Requests for new projects, special programs, specialized equipment, and projects that support Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus.
WILL NOT FUND:
- Capital projects that mainly support the charity’s administration. Requests for capital funding will be reviewed carefully to ensure the funds directly benefit the people the charity serves.
- Staff salaries.
- Multi-year funding requests.
- Scholarships for individuals or groups.
- Animal rescue, shelter, habitat maintenance, or similar programs.
- Individuals.
- Political organizations or political campaigns.
- Legislative lobbying.
- Religious organizations for sectarian purposes.
- Sporting programs, such as baseball, rowing, football, soccer, and lacrosse teams.
- Art groups, including bands, orchestras, choral groups, chamber groups, and similar organizations.
Organizations that receive funding must submit a written report to the Rotary Club by the end of the calendar year. The report must explain how the funds were used. If a report is not submitted, the organization will not be eligible to apply for funding the following year.
Grant applications must be received by December 31 each year. We will acknowledge receipt of your application. Applications are reviewed in a timely manner, and applicants will be notified during the first quarter of the new year.
